about

“Watchu Want” was the first tune written for The New Mastersounds’ 17th album ‘The Deplar Effect’ and happens to be the first track on the album. On every studio album to date, the band has a tradition of opening with an instrumental “Meters-inspired” track. The Meters were the main influence of the sound of the band back at its start in '99, and with each album sees a homage to the great NoLa band. The title of the track asks the listener "after 2 years of lockdown, what are you wanting for? Because we've got a lot to give!"
